In order to meet just about every survey requirement, iziSurvey also offers the highly advanced conditional/skipping logic feature. Conditionals allow you to direct the respondent to a series of questions based on their responses and skip questions that are irrelevant to them. For instance, you have a question that says, Do you have a job with answer options yes or no, and you want the survey questions that are related to people who have a job to be shown only to those who answered yes. Illustration: Do you have a job?
  • Yes
  • No
Survey takers who answered yes will see a set of customized questions such as, where do you work; do you like your job and so on. This way, they will skip the rest of the questions and will see only the ones selected for them. Conditional questions, however, can be used with close-ended question types, which are: radio, check box and dropdown type of questions

A step-by-step guide on how to apply conditionals in iziSurvey:

  1. 1. You create a question from which other questions can depend on, in our case the question is Do you have a job, which is a radio type question with Yes and No answer options.
  2. izisurvey conditional, skip logic, conditionals
  3. 2. Now, you create the rest of the questions that will be shown only to those who selected Yes as their answer choice.
  4. 3. Time to add conditional logic! In order for the second question to be shown only to respondents who answered yes in the first question (meaning they have a job), you have to add yes in the Condition field
  5. izisurvey conditional, skip logic, conditionals
Why use conditionals? First, it saves respondents’ time by skipping questions that are not related or applicable to them, which enhances survey takers’ experience. Also, it allows you to collect a variety of data by using only one survey instead of multiple surveys. Highly advanced conditional questions may sound complicated but they have never been easier to apply with iziSurvey!
